The Italian Peasant, nestled in the heart of Tubac, Arizona, is a hidden gem that resonates with charm and character. With a vibe that's both cozy and inviting, patrons often leave with a sense of warmth and satisfaction, enriched by authentic Italian cuisine. Reviews paint a lovely picture of their meals; many customers specifically rave about the baked ziti and fresh pizzas, highlighting the incredible flavors and quality of ingredients used.
One standout is their antipasto, lauded for its generous portions and delectable topping of fried eggplant. The clam linguini, featuring fresh clams rather than the typical chopped variety, also garners high praise, despite a suggestion for a bit more garlic to elevate its flavor. The Peasant Hero, filled with thick mozzarella and grilled eggplant, has left guests longing for more, some even forgetting to snap a photo before indulging!
While service times may vary, the overall experience at The Italian Peasant makes it a worthwhile visit. Whether stopping by for a scrumptious lunch or an evening filled with live music, diners will find themselves returning for the flavors and the friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy true Italian cuisine in Tubac.

Came here on Thanksgiving, desperate for food and they were open. The atmosphere was very calm and comfy, I felt very relaxed. Food was INCREDIBLE! Got the baked ziti and a cheeseburger and ate every bite of both. Live music was playing and it was great! Had to wait a little long to take our food order when the place wasn’t very busy. Regardless, will be back again!

I got a really good pizza to go The service was great they were friendly and had the Pizza ready to go on time. The price was not extreme, but not cheap either.

Great impromptu lunch stop! Food was fresh prepared. Looked an tasted appetizing. Atmosphere would have been a 5 except for a local Realtors luncheon with microphones, clapping, etc. Not a problem, really, but it was a bit loud and I wanted to get in on the gift drawing.

Visiting Tubac for the arts? Afterward stop at the Italian Peasant for their terrific eats. If I hadn't checked out the online reviews I would probably have passed this restaurant by as it looks more like a sports bar from the outside. Inside it's cozy and cool and if you get there when it first opens - 11am - you'll have your pick of spot as it's seat yourself. We ordered the antipasto which was amazing, it had nicely breaded eggplant strips on the top and generous portions of meats, artichoke, and spicy peppers. We ordered the small which was plenty for 3 people. For mains we had the clam linguini which had fresh clams not the chopped up clams most places serve. Ordered a small eggplant parmigiana which came with a side of rigitoni pasta in marinara sauce. These came with a nice serving of garlic bread. Also ordered a full size Peasant hero which was thick with chunks of mozarella and grilled eggplant settled between two fresh slices of bread. So good I forgot to take a picture. Really happy with our choice, the only minor critique is that the clam linguini could've used more garlic to take it over the top. Highly recommend eating here.

Surprisingly good pizza. Just delicious. Also don’t miss the anti-pasta appetizer. It’s really special with fried eggplant on top. This place is delicious. Highly recommend. One of our favorite meals here in Green Valley.

We stopped today to celebrate Mothers Day. Started with Veg Antipasto. It's a meal in itself. I had the recommended steak sandwich with fries and ate it all. My wife, their awesome chicken piccata. As we were eating a server walked by with a gorgeous pizza. (yes they can be that good looking) So we ordered one to go. We are not drinkers so it wasn't alcohol induced. The food here is not only delicious but very appealing. I like that I can ask "what do you recommend" and I've never been disappointed. If you have not eaten here, you are remiss.
